The Best Convertible Cribs for Your Baby
By Danielle Thegreenerme
Buying Convertible Cribs for Your Baby - Which Ones are the Best? With the recent crib recalls of 2009, researching the right crib for your baby is a must for their safety. Most cribs have been taken off the market that were recalled. Those cribs included the ones with the drop-side, where infants could get stuck and suffocate. These cribs do not fall into that category. These convertible cribs all have received excellent customer reviews. In fact, most of them have been reviewed a hundred times or more. All of these convertible cribs are also JPMA certified, so they meet all of the latest regulations and certifications. So what criteria was analyzed when featuring these cribs? 1. They needed to have many reviews from customers, and they had to be mostly positive. They also had to be at least 4 out of 5 stars or more. 2. These cribs needed to be available to ship to you right now. 3. They had to be offered at a discounted price. 4. The cribs had to be practical. Convertible cribs are practical in itself, but these ones can also convert into day beds, as well as a full size bed down the road for when they head into their later years. 5. They had to have no moving parts. To me, moving parts aren't a good idea with cribs - just to be on the safe side. If you're ordering your own crib for your baby, I would recommend setting it up well ahead of time. This will allow the crib to offset the gases, if any, before the baby arrives. Setting up the crib early will also let you order any extra parts, should the manufacturer forget to include them. So, is a convertible crib worth buying? Yes, it's a good investment. Your child is going to grow out of the crib before you know it, and not having to purchase a bed for them will save you some much needed cash (or maybe you can put the savings in their college fund!) for down the road. Most of these beds can convert easily with rail kits that can be purchased separately. |

There are so many horror stories about poorly constructed cribs, Danielle. Thank you for presenting this fine intel. frederick
I remember when the twins were in cribs. They each had their own. They discovered how to shift their weight to actually move the cribs across the floor so they were next to each other. One twin would often climb into his brothers crib and we would find them sleeping together in the morning. That was some 29 years ago. Things have shure changed a lot since then. Good article.
